The University of South Florida men's soccer team traveled to Orlando on Saturday night, to pick up its first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over No. 14 UCF in the season's first edition of the War on I-4.

The first goal came within the first 12 minutes from a free-kick that was lofted into the box. Oscar Resano (Mexico City, Mexico) was able to do a quick turn on the defender and slip the ball to the far post to give the Bulls the early lead.

USF only had one shot in the first half and was able to convert, while UCF (1-2, 1-2 AAC) held an 11-1 shot advantage at the half.

The Bulls (1-2, 1-2 AAC) continued to apply pressure in the second half, outshooting the Knights 10-9, which led to Henrique Gallina (Atibaia, Brazil) netting a goal from a corner by Victor Claudel (Strasbourg, France) in the 54th minute.

UCF was able to get on the board late in the second half when a ball was played across and a mistouch by the Bulls put it in the back of the net.

Trey Jackson (Ocala, Fla.) led the Bulls with three shots and seven other Bulls recorded shots on goal.

USF goalkeeper Kazuna Takase (Tomoto, Japan) rose to the challenge and tallied a career-best 12 saves on the night.
