UCF capped off a dominant opening conference weekend, picking up a second straight sweep by downing Cincinnati at home. The Knights won by a 25-23, 25-19, 25-13 final score.
 
McKenna Melville led UCF with 15 kills and six digs in the victory, and Anne-Marie Watson hit .556 with 10 kills and two block assists. Amber Olson filled the stat sheet with 30 assists, five block assists and seven digs for the Knights.
 
Shannon Williams registered 12 kills in the setback for Cincinnati, and Payton Frederick added 19 digs and six assists.
 
East Carolina 3, South Florida 1 (28-26, 25-21, 25-27, 32-30)
 
East Carolina picked up a split during its Florida swing to begin conference play, taking down South Florida in four sets in Tampa. The Pirates logged a 28-26, 25-21, 25-27, 32-30 victory.
 
Bri Wood narrowly missed a double-double in hitting .364 with 19 kills and nine digs for East Carolina. Natalie Tyson turned in 14 kills and 16 digs and Tia Shum logged 20 digs to lead the Pirates.
 
Marta Cvitkovic shined for USF with 20 kills, three block assists and six digs. Amiree Hendricks-Walker hit .476 with 13 kills and five total blocks.
 
Houston 3, Wichita State 0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-18)
 
Houston bounced back from an opening day setback to sweep Wichita State in straight sets. The Cougars downed the Shockers 25-20, 25-18, 25-18 on Sunday.
 
Bridget Wallenberger hit an impressive .588 with 11 kills for Houston on the offensive end, as Abbie Jackson chipped in 14 kills and five digs. Kate Georgiades recorded a team-high 18 digs.
 
Kayce Litzau finished the day with 27 assists, seven digs and two block assists for Wichita State. Sophia Rohling ended the day with a team-high nine kills.
 
Memphis 3, Temple 1 (25-18, 18-25, 25-23, 25-23)
 
Memphis got into the win column with a four-set home victory over Temple. The Tigers scored the conference triumph by way of a 25-18, 18-25, 25-23, 25-23 final score.
 
Elizabeth Orf hit .407 with 13 kills and five total blocks to pace Memphis. Miaya Smith and Autumn Hamilton each tied with 12 kills for the Tigers. Sabrina Bianco chipped in 49 assists and four digs.
 
Gem Grimshaw went for a double-double with 16 kills and 13 digs for Temple. Katerina Papazoglou closed the day with 10 kills and 10 digs.
 
Tulane 3, Tulsa 0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-17)
 
Tulane improved to 2-0 in American play with a sweep of Tulsa in straight sets in its return home to New Orleans following Hurricane Ida. The Green Wave won comfortably 25-14, 25-14, 25-17.
 
Anna Davis hit at a .360 clip with 10 kills and three service aces to pace a balanced Tulane lineup. Lexie Douglas narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills and nine digs on .444 hitting, and Yvette Burcescu hit .471 with nine kills.
