Three of the four American Athletic Conference women's soccer matches ended in draws Thursday, Sept. 30.

Tulsa 4, Temple 1 - Box Score
Megan Nielsen recorded two goals, while Kayla Fernandez and Mia Darden each tallied a score to give the Tulsa women's soccer team a 4-1 win at Temple on Thursday night at the Temple Sports Complex in Philadelphia, Pa.  The Golden Hurricane moved to 6-5-1 on the season and 1-2 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Owls fell to 3-4-3 overall and 1-2 in the league.
 
This was Tulsa's first conference road win since topping UConn 3-0 in the 2018 season.
 
Kayla Fernandez scored her first goal of the season with just 14:13 ticked off the clock to give Tulsa an early lead.  Megan Nielsen then scored two quick goals coming in the 23rd and 25th minutes, doubling her goal total on the season, to put the Hurricane up 3-0.
 
Roisin McGovern registered a goal at the 28:17 mark to put the Owls on the board and TU took that 3-1 lead into halftime.
 
Just over 10 minutes into the second half, Mia Darden added a goal for Tulsa and it was the last goal of the night for the 4-1 victory.
 
Nielsen and Kayla Fernandez each had a team-best four shots, while Liliana Fernandez added three attempts.  Raegan Beeding logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up four saves.

Houston 1, South Florida 1 (2OT) - Box Score
TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 30, 2021 – The University of South Florida women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against Houston at Corbett Stadium on Senior Night.
 
Seven of USF's (7-2-2, 2-0-1 AAC) starters played all 110 minutes in the game. Meghan Cavanaugh led the Bulls' attack with six shots and two shots on goal. Nasello netted her eighth goal of the year in the match.
 
Houston's (9-1-2, 1-0-1 AAC) attack started strong, putting up three shots and two corner kicks in the first 27 minutes. On the second corner attempt, the kick found its way to Zionah Browne, who headed it into the net to give the Cougars the 1-0 lead in the 27th minute.
 
South Florida regrouped at the break and came out with a renewed offensive effort in the second half. Entering the final minute of the game outshooting Houston 10-4 in the second frame, Nasello dribbled into the box looking for one last attack with less than a minute left and was tripped by a defender, drawing a penalty kick.
 
While the goalkeeper guessed right, Nasello punched it into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1.
 
Both teams had opportunities in the overtime periods. After a quiet opening 10 minutes, the Bulls took three shot in the first two minutes of the second OT frame, including a pair on goal from Cavanaugh.
 
Minutes later, Houston's counterattack nearly broke through. Sydney Martinez timed a dive perfectly to snatch the ball away from a Cougar attacker, ending the game in a draw.

East Carolina 1, Cincinnati 1 (2OT) - Box Score
CINCINNATI -- The Bearcat soccer team played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw Thursday night against ECU at Gettler Stadium. Cincinnati's record moves to 6-4-2 overall, 4-1-2 at home and 1-1-1 in AAC play.
 
The Bearcats started the first half on the front-foot as Karli Royer's free-kick going just over the bar from outside the box at the 6th minute. ECU took an early lead off a cross from the right wing by Lexi Moore headed in by Haley McWhirter. Vanessa DiNardo and Lauren Bastian each tested the ECU goalie midway through the second half. DiNardo received a good ball from Barron but was unable to score. Bastian had a long shot tipped over the bar. Anna Rexford made a tremendous stop off of a close-range header from McWhirter.
 
The Bearcats started the second half on the attack and found an equalizer through Kendall Battle. She picked up a loose ball in midfield and attempted an audacious shot from the left wing and it snuck in at the back post. UC had opportunities to win in late in the second half, but could not convert. Maddie Thiss and Maddy Pittman each coming close off of opportunities in the box. After the full 90 minutes, the match remained 1-1 and headed for extra-time.
 
ECU was awarded an indirect free kick off of an Ashley Barron 101st minute handball, but the Pirates' could not capitalize. The Bearcats had a flurry of attempts off a corner-kick, but were unable to break the deadlock.
 
The Bearcats totaled 17 shots in this match, with 12 coming in the second half and extra-time. Rexford collected two saves to go along with the shutout. Bastian and DiNardo each paced the team with three shots each.
