HOUSTON, Texas – The No. 23 University of Houston volleyball team used double-digit kill performances from graduate Isabel Theut and senior Abbie Jackson to sink the East Carolina Pirates, 3-0, in front of another record crowd at the Fertitta Center on Sunday afternoon.
 
Houston (21-2, 12-0 The American) posted its third consecutive straight-set win and sixth of the 13-game winning streak. The Cougars now hold a 17-9 advantage in the all-time series and have won the last three against East Carolina (8-16, 3-9 The American).
 
The Cougars have a 10-0 record at home and have won their last 11 matches in the Fertitta Center dating back to last season. The home winning streak is the seventh longest active streak in the country, while the team's overall 13-game streak is the sixth.
 
In addition to her 15 kills and .481 hitting percentage, Jackson tied the program's all-time service aces record with two in the match, bringing her career total even with Sami Sawyer's 140 between 1993-1996.
 
Senior Morgan Janda led the match with 23 assists, while junior Kate Georgiades paced both teams with 16 digs. Theut led the team for the 13th time this season with 16 kills.
 
The team is now a perfect 6-0 this season when hitting above .300 and is an unblemished 17-0 when doing so under Head Coach David Rehr.
 
SMU 3, Cincinnati 0 – Box Score
DALLAS, Texas – The SMU volleyball team improved to 10-2 in The American with a 3-0 sweep (25-15, 25-17, 25-19) of Cincinnati on Sunday night inside Moody Coliseum. With the loss, the Bearcats fall to 4-8 in The American.
 
The Mustangs outhit Cincinnati .315 to .116, forcing 17 Bearcat errors in the win.
 
Marieke van der Mark and Jamison Wheeler led the Mustangs with 11 kills. London Austin-Roark joined the two Mustangs with double-digits, ending with 10 kills.  Celia Cullen paced the match with 40 assists.
 
Defensively, Natalie Perdue (11), Celia Cullen (10) and Jamison Wheeler (10) each had double-digit digs.  London Austin-Roark led the team with five blocks.
 
Cincinnati was led by Avry Tatum’s 10 kills in the match. Emme Madden paced the match with 25 assists.  Shaye Eggleston (12) and Payton Frederick (11) led the Bearcats in digs.
 
UCF 3, Wichita State 1 – Box Score
WICHITA, Kan. – After falling in the first set, the UCF volleyball team rallied for a 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-16) win over Wichita State on Sunday afternoon at Charles Koch Arena. The Knights improve to 11-1 in The American, while Wichita State falls to 6-5 in The American.
 
McKenna Melville led the Knights with 23 kills in the match, while Heidi Bonde (13) also had double-digit kills.  Amber Olson dished out 48 assists in the match.
 
Abby Hansen has nine blocks in the four-set match, while Chloe Sheer finished with 14 digs.
 
For the Shockers, Sophia Rohling (11), Brylee Kelly (10) and Natalie Foster (10) each finished with double-digit kills.  Kayce Litzau paced the match for Wichita State with 38 assists.  On the defensive side, Lara Uyar ended with a match-high 14 digs.
 
South Florida 3, Tulsa 0 – Box Score
Tulsa, Okla. – The University of South Florida Bulls (8-14, 2-8 The American) swept Tulsa (10-13, 3-8 The American) to wrap up this weekend's road trip. USF has played eight of its first 10 conference matches away from home this season.
 
South Florida took the match against Tulsa by set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-22.
 
For the second match in a row, Maria Clara Andrade paced the Bulls with 17 kills on .361 hitting percentage. Amanda DeWitt contributed 14 kills on a .400 percentage, while Marta Cvitkovic floored another eight kills.
 
Ally Barnhart led the Bulls with five total blocks including one solo block and four block assists, followed by DeWitt and Cviktovic with a pair of blocks each.
 
Freshman Yasmin Shaw posted a new career high of two blocks, along with three assists and a single block in the match.
 
Andrade claimed the Bulls' single service ace of the match.
 
Kelsey O'Loughlin posted 23 assists throughout the match followed by Tatiana Johnson who added 12 assists.
 
CC Clausen led the Bulls' back row with 23 digs along with Johnson and Andrade who contributed with 13 and 9 digs, respectively.
 
Temple 3, Tulane 2 – Box Score
NEW ORLEANS, La. – It was the second time in as many matches versus the Tulane Green Wave that the Temple volleyball team came back from a 2-1 deficit to win 3-2 (25-22, 21-25, 25-19, 15-10). On Sunday, redshirt senior Peyton Boyd led the Owls comeback back with a career-defining, 20 kills, 15 digs double-double.
 
Boyd had 33 attempts in the match with one error, leading to a .575 hitting percentage.
 
Temple improves to 9-14 overall and 3-9 in The American, while Tulane drops to 8-15 and 3-9 in conference play.
 
To along with Boyd's career day, Taylor Davenport and Jelena Prolic accounted for 31 kills. Davenport had 16 putaways, while Prolic had 15.
 
Temple's middle blocking tandem of Chelci Banks, Kayla Spells, and Samantha Jo Mikosky also played a big role offensively as they combined for 13 kills. Banks came away with six kills on seven attack attempts with no errors, while amassing an .857 hitting percentage.
 
As a team, Temple scored on eight service aces in the victory. It's the eighth time this season the Owls tallied eight or more aces in a match.
 
Cherry and White libero Falanika Danielson anchored the defense with a season-high 26 digs.
