UCF, Cincinnati, Memphis and Tulsa all picked up league wins in American Athletic Conference women's soccer action on Sunday, October 9.

ORLANDO – The UCF women's soccer team kept a clean sheet and picked up a massive three points in a 1-0 victory against SMU on Sunday at the UCF Soccer Complex.

The Knights move to 4-2-4 on the season and stay unbeaten in conference play, with two wins and a draw, while the Mustangs fell to 6-3-4 (1-3-1 American).
 
The first half was filled with chances from both teams, as the Knights consistently put pressure on the SMU backline. Dayana Martin was the center of the UCF attack early on, having a shot blocked by the Mustangs goalkeeper in the sixth minute.
 
The half became a midfield battle until Kristen Scott was subbed on in the 25th minute. The Knights found their attacking edge and found their goal in the 36th minute. She dispossessed the SMU defender following a Kelis Barton pass that set her free and took it with her left, slotting it into the back of the net for her fourth goal in the campaign.
 
The UCF defense did not allow a single shot on goal from the Mustangs, as Caroline DeLisle picked up her 23rd career clean sheet.
 
Cincinnati 3, Temple 1 - Box Score
CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team secured their first conference win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Temple at Gettler Stadium on Sunday.

With the win, the Bearcats extend their unbeaten streak to five matches and improve 5-1-5 (1-0-2 American) on the season, while the Owls fell to 1-7-4 (0-4-0 American).

For the second straight match, Cincinnati commanded an early 1-0 lead off the foot of Paige Miller. Vyviene Spaulding connected with Miller on a perfectly placed cross inside the six-yard frame, where the sophomore forward found the bottom right corner of the net off a diving header in the 13th minute.

Cincinnati doubled their lead seven minutes later when Emma Schmelzer fired a followed-up set piece past the outstretched arms of the Owls' goalkeeper for her first collegiate goal in the 20th minute. Schmelzer is now the 11th different Bearcat to score this season.

Temple answered in the 61st minute to cut the lead to one on a 61st minute goal by Carly Steinberg, who was assisted by Phoebe Hollin.

The match remained within a goal until Cincinnati found some late insurance in the 88th minute. The pair of Miller and Spaulding connected for the second time on the afternoon when Spaulding sent a ball in the final third and Miller redirected the touch inside the left post to make it 3-1.

Memphis 4, East Carolina 0 - Box Score
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger women's soccer team made a statement win today on their way to a 4-0 victory over East Carolina.
 
After today's game, Memphis moves to 5-4-4 for the season and 1-1-3 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Pirates fell to 7-5-2 (2-1-1 American).
 
The Tigers got on the board early when Saorla Miller found the feet of Jocelyn Alonzo to connect for the 1-0 lead in the 11th minute.

Less than two minutes later, Mya Jones would record her sixth goal of the season after Memphis broke the ECU defense to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead just 12 minutes into the match.

Haylee Spray would cap off a near perfect half for Memphis with a put-back goal off a rebounded shot in the 38'. The Tigers would take the 3-0 lead into halftime.

Memphis would continue to control the pace of the match, getting one last goal in the 88' after Alonzo sent a shot towards the Pirates goal and the ball shanked off an ECU defender.
 
Claire Wyville recorded her fourth shutout of the year after making one save.

Tulsa 3, Houston 0 - Box Score
HOUSTON - Three different players scored a goal to give the Tulsa women's soccer team a 3-0 win over Houston on Sunday afternoon at the Carl Lewis International Complex in Houston, Texas.  TU moved to 7-4-3 on the season and 2-1-2 in American Athletic Conference play, while UH fell to 5-5-3 overall and 1-2-2 in the league.

Emilie Torres put the Golden Hurricane on the board with just 4:03 ticked off the clock off a pass from Liliana Fernandez. 

In the 29th minute, Kayla Fernandez crossed the ball in to Isold Runarsdottir who put the ball into the back of the net.  The Golden Hurricane maintained that 2-0 lead at the break. Quinn Turner made it a 3-0 game in the 78th minute for the final score.

Tatum Sanders logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up three saves
