South Florida improved to 3-0 at the USF-Rawling Invitational with a convincing 4-1 win over No. 16/13 Michigan. The Bulls clubbed a pair of home runs to account for the offensive punch, and the lone Wolverine run of the day came across by way of a South Florida throwing error.
 
Josie Foreman clubbed a two-out, three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning to put South Florida ahead 3-0. Madison Epperson added a solo home run with two outs in the bottom of the fourth to push the Bulls ahead 4-1.
 
Georgina Corrick (2-0) was sensational on the bump for South Florida, surpassing former Tulsa pitcher Emily Watson (903) for the American career strikeout record during the victory. Corrick scattered five hits with no walks and struck out 11 batters on 96 pitches to down Michigan.
 
UCF (RV) 6, Fresno State (RV) 1/UCF (RV) 9, Longwood 1 (5)
 
UCF bounced back with a pair of Saturday victories at the Black & Gold Classic in Orlando, opening the day with a 6-1 triumph against Fresno State before trouncing Longwood 9-1 in the nightcap. The Knights also outhit their opponents by a combined 15-4 mark in the sweep.
 
Jada Cody combined to go 4-for-6 with a home run, eight RBI and three runs for UCF over its two wins. Denali Schappacher and Maddie Bejarano each scored a total of three runs on the day for the Knights.
 
Kaitlyn Felton (1-0) went six strong innings with three hits and one unearned run allowed for UCF against Fresno State, punching out four batters. Kama Woodall struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh against the Bulldogs. Gianna Mancha (1-0) spun a one-hitter in the game against Longwood, yielding just one walk while striking out four for the Knights.
 
No. 25 Wichita State 10, Houston Baptist 2 (6)
 
With unseasonable weather altering the schedule to just one game on the day, No. 25 Wichita State erupted for seven runs in the final two innings to down Houston Baptist 10-2 in six innings at the Sam Houston Bearkat Classic. The Shockers broke open a 3-1 game with six runs in the bottom of the fifth frame, with five scored two outs.
 
Sydney McKinney reached base in all five plate appearances on the night, going a perfect 4-for-4 while finishing a double short of the cycle. McKinney drove in three and scored three runs in the Wichita State win. Addison Barnard finished 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, an RBI and a run scored, and Lauren Mills clocked a three-run home run and Zoe Jones a solo shot for the Shockers.
 
Kenzie Schopfer (1-0) picked up her first career win for Wichita State with five innings of six-hit softball, walking one while striking out four batters against Houston Baptist.
 
Houston 9, UTSA 5/Texas Tech 1, Houston 0
 
Houston battled to a split on day two of the Houston Invitational, defeating UTSA by a 9-5 before being one-hit in a 1-0 shutout at the hands of Texas Tech.
 
The Cougars tied the UTSA game at 5-5 with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning and pulled ahead with a four-run showing in the bottom of the sixth. Ja’Naiya Thomas and Becca Schulte both went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored for Houston in the UTSA victory. Paige Hulsey added a 2-for-3 effort with a run driven in while scoring twice.
 
Long Beach State 8, Memphis 5
 
Memphis wrapped up the Puerto Vallarta College with a 2-3 record after falling in its final game by an 8-5 score against Long Beach State. The Tigers were undone by three Long Beach State runs in the top of the second and fourth innings.
 
Kendall Lee reached base three times and drove in two runs on the day for Memphis. Alexis Dale ripped two base hits and scored a run for the Tigers.
 
Georgetown 3, East Carolina 2 (9)/Purdue 9, East Carolina 6
 
East Carolina finished on the wrong side of a 3-2 result in nine innings against Georgetown and a 9-6 defeat against Purdue on day two of the Kickin’ Chicken Classic at Coastal Carolina. The losses dropped the Pirates to 1-3 on the young season.
 
Faith Jarvis and Sophie Wools each posted two base his in the Georgetown game for ECU. Jarvis added two hits, an RBI and a run scored against Purdue. Bailee Wilson drove in two runs in the Purdue game for the Pirates.
 
Jordan Hatch (0-2) took the hard-luck loss with four innings of one-hit relief, allowing an unearned run in the ninth inning against Georgetown.
 
UAB 5, Tulsa 1/McNeese State 6, Tulsa 0
 
Tulsa lost a 5-1 result to UAB in the opening game of the day at McNeese State, falling to the host Cowgirls by a 6-0 final in the nightcap.
 
Imani Edwards got Tulsa on the board in the UAB contest with an RBI triple in the top of the fifth inning to score Haley Morgan.
