Wichita State erupted for a huge offensive day in tournament play at Kansas, blitzing Iowa 14-3 in five innings and host Kansas 9-2 to cap the event on Monday. The Shockers batted .397 (25-for-63) on the day and added seven extra-base hits in the offensive barrage.
Lauren Lucas went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two runs scored in the Iowa win, and Addison Barnard finished 3-for-3 with four RBI and four runs. Sydney McKinney scored three runs against the Hawkeyes. McKinney added three runs for the Shockers in the nightcap against Kansas.
Rider 8, East Carolina 0 (5)
East Carolina saw a three-game winning streak end in an 8-0 defeat in five innings at the hands of Rider. Faith Jarvis and Logyn Estes logged the two hits for the Pirates in the game. Addy Bullis threw 1.2 innings of two-hit relief with two strikeouts for ECU.
