No. 23/24 UCF 7, South Florida (RV) 2
No. 23/24 UCF officially took the series at South Florida on Saturday, downing the rival Bulls 7-2 for a 17th straight win overall. South Florida committed four errors in the contest which yielded four unearned runs in the loss.
Johneisha Rowe went a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs in the leadoff hole for UCF. Shannon Doherty smashed a home run and drove in two runs and Micaela Macario added two RBI for the Knights.
Kama Woodall (10-1) allowed two earned runs over five innings, scattering six hits for UCF against South Florida. Kaitlyn Felton spun two shutout innings with three strikeouts to close the win.
East Carolina 12, Memphis 5
East Carolina leveled its weekend series at Memphis with a 12-5 Saturday victory. The Pirates belted 12 hits in the game and tallied 11 runs in the top of the first inning.
Sophie Wools drove in four runs for ECU in the win, and Jocelyn Alonso chipped in three RBI for the Pirates. Five different players from the ECU lineup each scored two runs. Hannah Bassham went 3-for-4 in the game and Dafne Mercado logged two hits and two RBI for Memphis.
Houston 13, Tulsa 11
Houston won a wild 13-11 decision in game two at Tulsa to level the series on Saturday. The teams combined for 31 hits and scored at least one total run in every inning prior to the seventh.
Becca Schulte led Houston with a 4-for-5 game, five RBI and two runs in the victory, and Britaney Shaw and Kati Ray Brown both added three RBI for the Cougars.
Makayla Jackson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI for Tulsa. Abby Jones went 3-for-4 with four runs scored for the Golden Hurricane.
