South Florida picked up its first conference win of the season, defeating East Carolina 9-0 in game one of a weekend set in Greenville. The Bulls slammed 12 hits in the win and held the Pirates to just one hit of their own.
 
Desirae Maldonado drove in four runs to lead the South Florida offense, and Meghan Sheehan slammed two hits to go along with three RBI. Alexis Johns had a team-high three base hits and three runs.
 
Georgina Corrick (23-3) went six innings of one-hit ball with one walk and 11 strikeouts to power the Bulls’ pitching staff. Erin Poepping spun a scoreless seventh inning for South Florida.
 
Wichita State 10, Tulsa 8
 
Wichita State rallied from a 7-4 deficit with six unanswered runs on the way to a 10-8 win against Tulsa to move to 1-0 in conference play.
 
Lauren Mills hit two home runs and drove in four runs for Wichita State in the win, and Addison Barnard added a homer and three RBI for the Shockers. Jessica Garcia chipped in two hits, including a home run, and three RBI for Wichita State.
 
Haley Morgan and Kailyn Bearpaw both logged two RBI for Tulsa. Rylee Keith and Kennedy Cramer each scored two runs for the Golden Hurricane.
 
Houston 8, Memphis 0 (5)
 
Houston opened a weekend homestand against Memphis with an offensive barrage in an 8-0 win in five innings. The Cougars tallied a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning before erupting for six runs in the bottom of the second.
 
Kati Ray Brown slugged a three-run home run in the second inning to cap the Houston scoring. Aspen Howie opened the first inning with a two-run shot for the Cougars, and Howie and Rock Benavides both scored two runs.
 
Hannah Todd (5-5) scattered three hits in a shutout victory, walking one and striking out three in five innings for Houston.
