East Carolina closed its 2022 nonconference schedule with an emphatic 9-1 win in six innings against NC Central on Tuesday in Greenville. The Pirates scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning and held the Eagles to just two hits in the victory.
Chandley Garner went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored and Taudrea Sinnie added three hits, a stolen base and a run in the win for ECU. Taylor Woodring smashed a two-run home run and Bailey Ledvina scored a pair of runs for the Pirates.
Jordan Hatch allowed two hits over five innings to earn the win for ECU, walking two with nine strikeouts against NC Central. Taylor Smith spun a hitless top of the sixth with a walk and two strikeouts.
Ole Miss 11, Memphis 0 (5)
Memphis dropped an 11-0 decision in five innings to SEC foe Ole Miss on Tuesday night. The Tigers were held to just five hits in the ballgame.
Gracie Morton reached base in all three plate appearances for Memphis, ripping a two-out triple down the right field line in the fourth inning. Kendall Lee went 2-for-2, including a double, and also reached base in three plate appearances for the Tigers.
