No. 16 UCF advanced to the regional final of the NCAA Orlando Regional on Saturday, erasing a 2-0 deficit with runs in the sixth and seventh innings before walking off Michigan 3-2 in 11 innings.
Maddie Bejarano’s pinch-hit RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning tied the game at 2-2 for UCF. Bejarano ultimately won the game with an RBI base knock in the bottom of the 11th frame. Shannon Doherty, Johneisha Rowe and Justene Molina each scored runs for the Knights.
Kama Woodall threw a gusty complete game to take the win for UCF, allowing five hits and one earned run over 11 innings, striking out a career-high 10 batters on 181 pitches.
