After the Eagles tallied in the 78th minute to cut the lead to one, Maria Bulis found the ball in a scramble in the 6-yard box and scored in the 87th minute to finish off the scoring.

Hermann Trophy Watch List candidate Sebazco closed opening week for the Mustangs with one goal (game winner versus Rice on Aug. 18) and an assist.

Goalkeeper Samantha Estrada logged nine saves on 25 shots faced, one short of tying a career high set against Memphis on Oct. 28, 2021.

Tennessee's Jaida Thomas scored the equalizer in the 61st minute in a front-of-the-net scramble off a Hannah Zaluski corner kick.

Goalkeeper Anna Rexford recorded a pair of saves to secure the shutout and earn her second straight clean sheet, erasing the Spartans' best look of the match with a full extension save in the 76th minute. This is the first time that Cincinnati has recorded consecutive shutouts since the Bearcats' held Temple and UCONN scoreless on Sept. 26 and Sept. 29 of 2019.

After the kickoff time was delayed an hour for inclement weather, the Bearcats faced another 80-minute delay after 23 minutes of action. The two teams remained in the defensive battle as neither team was able to get clear attempts at the goal through the first 45 minutes.

Cincinnati held the possession advantage in the second half as the Bearcats' best chance came in the 84th minute when Brandi Thomsen collected a ball left of the top of the box before firing a shot outside of the top right of the frame, however, neither team was able to capitalize after regulation.

The Pirates opened the second half strong with Anabelle Abbott recording a shot on goal, but in the 50th minute, South Carolina struck again. Catherine Barry crossed the ball in and after a rattling around briefly, the ball snuck past English and into the goal, thanks to a touch by Megan Spiehs.
