UCF delivered a sweep of Gardner-Webb on Thursday with a pair of run-rule victories, winning 8-0 in game one before finishing the double-header with a 10-2 win. The first game secured the 250th win of head coach Cindy Ball-Malone’s career.
 
The Knights combined for 17 hits in the two games while Grace Jewell (1-1) and Kaitlyn Felton (3-2) earned the wins in the circle. The two pitchers allowed nine combined hits over the course of the two games.
 
Tulsa 4, South Alabama 2 – Box Score
Tulsa used a two-run first inning to help catapult the Golden Hurricane to a 4-2 win over South Florida on Thursday evening at Jaguar Field in Mobile, Alabama.
 
Abby Jones accounted for two RBI coming in the first and third innings. Kylee Nash tossed a complete game, picking up the win to improve to 3-1 on the season. She allowed just one earned run off eight hits while striking out four batters.
 
Houston 4, Houston Christian 1 – Box Score
The University of Houston softball team cruised to a 4-1 win over Houston Christian on Thursday night at Cougar Softball Stadium behind a complete-game effort in the circle from junior Taylor Edwards.
 
Edwards, throwing her third complete game of the season, also earned her third win of the campaign as Houston (7-4) opened a five-game slate of games at the Houston Tournament. The junior struck out nine, allowing only one unearned run in the game.
 
East Carolina 3, Bucknell 1 – Box Score
Bucknell 2, East Carolina 0 – Box Score
The East Carolina softball team earned a split on day one of the Pirate Clash on Thursday, defeating Bucknell 3-1 in the first game before falling 2-0 to the Bison in the second game of the doubleheader at Max R. Joyner Family Stadium.
 
Addy Bullis (5-0) earned the win and continued her dominant start to the season, striking out five batters in seven innings pitched. Jordan Hatch (4-2) surrendered four hits and two runs in the loss.
 
Clemson 6, South Florida 0 – Box Score
After a midweek sweep, the University of South Florida softball team fell to the #5/5 Clemson Tigers, 6-0, on the opening night of the USF Invitational on Thursday night. 
 
Clemson struck early with a two-run home run in the first inning. South Florida had no action until the bottom on the third inning when Rian Eigenmann singled through the left side. She quickly stole second and then advanced to third on a single from Emilee Hanlon.
