HONOLULU – The University of Memphis women's tennis team got its spring season started Wednesday with a 5-2 road victory over Hawaii.
"I'm proud of how we competed in some warm conditions," Memphis head coach Hayden Perez said. "The girls found themselves in some tough three-set matches and, whether they won or lost, they needed to be in those situations. This was a great match to start the year."

In singles action, Alice Amendola and Monique Woog got the action going with a pair of straight-set victories. Amendola won 6-0, 6-3 on court four before Woog took a 6-3, 6-3 decision at the fifth spot.
