Memphis' Gannon Named First Men's Tennis Player of the Week in 2024

RVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly men’s and women’s tennis honors for the week-ending January 22.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Conor Gannon • Jr. • Memphis • Dublin, Ireland
Gannon has gone a combined 7-0 in singles and doubles to help Memphis to a 4-0 start to the 2024 dual match season with victories against UAB, No. 11 Harvard, Northwestern and Indiana. Gannon has gone 3-0 at No. 2 singles, registering straight-set victories in all three wins, and is 4-0 at No. 2 doubles, alongside partner Harry Rock. Gannon was instrumental in the Tigers' win against the nationally ranked Crimson as his 6-4, 7-6 (4) singles victory tied the match at 2-2 before Memphis clinched the next two courts.
