IRVING, Texas – American Athletic Conference Commissioner Mike Aresco has issued the following statement on the recent passing of University of South Florida softball student-athlete Alexis Buchman.
 

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Alexis Buchman, who was an inspiration to all in her courageous fight against brain cancer. Alexis’ unwavering commitment to her team set a lasting example that will always be remembered.
 
We extend our deepest condolences to Alexis’ family, friends and teammates and to the entire South Florida community.
