IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly men’s and women’s tennis honors for the week-ending February 19.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Johnson • Gr. • SMU • Prescott, Ariz.
Johnson was a combined 5-0 in singles and doubles play as part of SMU’s 3-0 week. She scored a pair of straight-set singles wins in the Mustangs’ 4-0 victory against UT Arlington and their 4-1 decision against LSU, while she went 3-0 in doubles play, including the clincher for the first point in a 5-1 win against Wichita State. Johnson dropped a total of five games in her two singles victories as she took a 6-1, 6-2 win against UT Arlington and a 6-2, 6-0 decision against LSU, both from the No. 2 position.
