IRVING, Texas – Memphis junior Pablo Alemany has been chosen as the 2024 American Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Players of the Year by the league’s head coaches.

Alemany, who was the 2022 American Freshman of the Year, earned all-conference selections in both singles and doubles. He becomes the first Memphis player to earn American Player of the Year honors.
Svajda, who is from San Diego, California, is the second SMU player to be named as The American’s Freshman of the Year, joining 2021 winner Liam Krall. Svajda earned The American’s automatic bid to the NCAA Singles Championship while helping SMU earn an at-large selection to the team tournament. Svajda went 16-6 at the No. 1 singles position, including four wins against nationally ranked opponents.
Bailey earned American Coach of the Year honors after he led Charlotte to the American Athletic Conference title in the 49ers’ first season in the conference. Seeded No. 6 in the 12-team conference tournament, the 49ers won four matches in four days, capped by a 4-3 win against Memphis in the final after the 49ers trailed 3-0 and faced championship point. Bailey has led Charlotte to its second NCAA tournament appearance in school history and its first since 2007.
