IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly tennis honors for the week-ending February 10.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Fernanda Martinez • Fr. • Rice
Martinez was a winner in both singles and doubles, including the clinching point in singles to lead Rice past Houston 4-0 in the ITA Match of the Week. Martinez and doubles partner Darya Schwartzman, ranked No. 85 in the most recent ITA rankings, scored a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles before Martinez followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles to end the match. Martinez improved to 12-2 overall and 4-0 in dual matches in singles and has won her last six singles contests.
