SAN ANTONIO — Owen McCown threw four touchdown passes and Robert Henry rushed for 144 yards and two scores as UTSA overpowered Incarnate Word 48-20 on Saturday at the Alamodome.
The Roadrunners (1-2) rolled up 442 yards of offense and capitalized on three first-half turnovers to take a commanding 24-0 lead by halftime. McCown was nearly flawless, completing 29 of 35 passes for 238 yards with scoring strikes to Devin McCuin, Dan Dishman and AJ Wilson, who hauled in a 77-yard touchdown. McCuin finished with seven receptions for 51 yards and two scores.
Henry broke free for a 74-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter, finishing with an average of more than 10 yards per carry.
UIW (1-2) got three touchdown passes from EJ Colson to receiver Chedon James, including strikes of 38 and 36 yards, but the Cardinals’ ground game managed just 33 yards on 27 carries.
UTSA’s defense forced two interceptions, including a pick by Shad Banks Jr., and recorded four sacks. Michael Petro added field goals of 26 and 31 yards for the Roadrunners.
