IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly women’s swimming and diving honors.
Swimming Athlete of the Week
Lise Coetzee, Sophomore, Tulane
Coetzee won three individual events at the Mardi Gras Invite over the weekend in New Orleans against Arkansas-Little Rock, New Mexico and North Texas. In the 1,000-yard freestyle the sophomore touched first in a season-best time of 10:01.81, which ranks third in the American this season. She also captured event wins in the 200 freestyle (1:53.08) and the 500 freestyle (5:04.80).
Freshman Swimming Athlete of the Week
Eliza Lennox, Tulane
Lennox captured three individual event wins against Arkansas-Little Rock, New Mexico and North Texas at the Mardi Gras Invite in New Orleans over the weekend. She won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.74, the 50-yard butterfly in 24.20 and the 100 freestyle in 51.26.
Diving Athlete of the Week
Maddie O’Mera, Senior, JMU
O’Mera won the 3-meter springboard event against Villanova on Saturday with a score of 303.75 total points. The senior also placed second on 1-meter with 262.35 total points.
Freshman Diving Athlete of the Week
Libby Brewer, Tulane
Brewer picked up two second-place finishes at the Mardi Gras Invite in New Orleans. She placed second on 1-meter with 278.20 points, an NCAA Zone-qualifying score, and second on 3-meter with 266.80 points.
