IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball awards for the week ending Sunday, February 15.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Taylor Jones, So., Charlotte
Jones made three appearances in the circle for the 49ers, earning two wins and a save on the week. She did not allow an earned run across 15 innings pitched. She tossed two complete games against Michigan State and No. 14 Virginia Tech, while earning the save against Elon.
 
Player of the Week
Jaylah Jarrell, So., 2B, Charlotte
Jarrell helped lead the 49ers to a 5-0 weekend, slashing .667/.692/1.250. She recorded six RBI and scored five times while hitting two home runs. She recorded a hit in every game and scored or drove in a run in every game.  Against No. 14 Virginia Tech, she went 3-for-3 with a solo home run.
 
Honorable Mention
Jenna Krol, So., UTL, East Carolina
Krol recorded a hit in all five games this week, slashing .563/.563/.750 for the Pirates.
 
Hannah Marien, Sr., P, South Florida
Marien earned two wins in three appearances in the circle, finishing with a 0.58 ERA across 11.3 innings pitched.
 
Karhys Pierce, So., UTL, South Florida
Pierce recorded a hit in six of the seven games played by the Bulls, including three multi-hit performances.
 
Arlette Hernandez, Fr., P, UTSA
Hernandez earned complete-game two wins in three appearances, striking out 14 batters across 18 innings.
 
Taryn Madlock, Jr., OF, UTSA
Madlock slashed .500/.556/.813 with three RBI and four runs scored. She was named to the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge All-Tournament Team.
