IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly softball awards for the week ending Sunday, February 22.
Pitcher of the Week
Maura Moore, Gr., P, Tulsa
Moore delivered an impressive week in the circle for the Golden Hurricane, earning three wins. In 18.1 innings pitched, she struck out 24 batters and finished with a 1.15 ERA against Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, Tarleton and Pitt.
Player of the Week
Alex Wilkes, Jr., SS, South Florida
Wilkes helped guide the Bulls to a 7-0 week finishing with a hit and RBI in every game. Across seven games, she finished with 13 RBI and nine runs scored, while finishing the week on a four-game home run streak.
Honorable Mention
Jaylah Jarrell, So., 2B, Charlotte
Jarrell slashed .538/.611/1.077 while driving in a run in every game, finishing the week with 11 RBI.
Lily Holtje, So., DP, Florida Atlantic
Holtje drove in a run or scored in six of the seven games played for the Owls, while reaching base in each contest.
Elizabeth Moffitt, Jr., C, North Texas
Moffitt slashed .636/.667/.955, recording multiple hits in five games and driving in eight runs.
Anne Long, So., South Florida
Long made three appearances, earning two wins and save, while finishing with a 0.00 ERA in 12.3 innings in the circle.
Jade Sanders, Sr., Wichita State
Sanders tossed Wichita State's 22
nd no-hitter in program history in a six-inning run rule win over Creighton.
