IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly men’s and women’s tennis honors.
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
Mark Havlicek, Junior, Florida Atlantic
Havlicek won both matches for the Owls as Florida Atlantic defeated FGCU, 4-1. Havlicek and partner Marek Pazdera defeated Jonathan Baron and Tanner Povey at No. 1 doubles, 7-5, to clinch the doubles point for the owls. Havlicek then defeated Povey in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1 singles to help earn the team win.
Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Natalia Fantini, Sophomore, Tulane
Fantini went 4-0 overall while the Green Wave defeated UTSA and South Florida. The sophomore clinched both team wins for Tulane this weekend at No. 6 singles. She defeated UTSA’s Laia Tarazona Peyro, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, and South Florida’s Amelie Drukerova, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. Fantini and partner Natalia Perez won both of their doubles matches at No. 3, defeating UTSA, 6-3, and South Florida, 6-1.
