Florida Atlantic Sweeps Opening Softball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball awards for the week ending Sunday, February 8.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Autumn Courtney, Sr., Florida Atlantic
In three appearances on the weekend, Courtney finished with two wins and a save over Indiana, Ohio State and Wisconsin. The senior finished with a 1.40 ERA across 9.3 innings pitched and struck out 16 combined batters.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lily Holtje, So., DP/C/1B, Florida Atlantic
Holtje slashed .556/.688/1.222 across five wins for the Owls. She had at least one RBI or run scored in every game and recorded a hit in four of the five games.  Holtje drove in six runs and scored four times.
 
HONORABLE MENTION
Carley Keller, Fr., DP, Charlotte
Keller slashed .833/.833/1.000 in four games for the 49ers, finishing with five RBI and three runs scored.
 
Mya Clark, R-So., P/UTL, Memphis
Clark earned a win in the circle with a 1.75 ERA, while also hitting two home runs and leading the Tigers with a 1.944 OPS.
 
Ariel Davis, R-So., INF, Memphis
Davis recorded multiple hits in three of the five games played and scored seven runs during opening weekend.
 
Elizabeth Moffit, Jr., C, North Texas
Moffit hit three home runs , scoring five times and driving in six runs while hitting .429 on the weekend.
 
Toryn Fulton, Fr., OF, South Florida
Fulton hit two home runs and drove in five runs, while scoring four times to lead the Bulls to a pair of wins.
