East Carolina's Apostolakos, South Florida's WIlkes Earn Week Softball Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball awards for the week ending Sunday, March 15.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Julia Apostolakos, R-So., East Carolina
Apostolakos led the Pirates to a series victory over Charlotte, tossing 7.2 innings in the circle to capture a win and a save in the series. She finished with a 0.91 ERA and five strikeouts. She tossed a complete game win against the Owls, while earning the save in the 3-2 victory.
 
Player of the Week
Alex Wilkes, Jr., SS, South Florida
Wilkes was nearly impossible to keep off the bases, batting .778 across nine plate appearances. She finished with five runs batted in and scored an additional two times.  Of her seven hits, three were doubles as she helped lead the Bulls to a sweep over Charlotte.
 
Honorable Mention
Britney Lewinski, Sr., RHP, North Texas
Leinski earned two wins for the Mean Green against Tulsa, striking out six batters in 11.1 innings in the circle.
 
Ariah Mitchell, So., UTL, North Texas
Mitchell recorded a hit and scored a run in every game of the series sweep against the Golden Hurricane.
 
Carley Ernst, So., P, South Florida
Ernst tossed 8.0 innings in the circle for the Bulls, recording a win in a complete game against Charlotte.
 
Samantha Mundine, Jr., OF, UTSA
Mundine recorded an RBI in every game in the sweep of Memphis, finishing with a .500 batting average.
 
Trinity Allen, Jr., 1B, Wichita State
Allen recorded a hit in every game in the series sweep of UAB, finishing with a .667 batting average.
