IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball awards for the week ending Sunday, March 1.
Pitcher of the Week
Arlette Hernandez, Fr., P, UTSA
Hernandez made three appearances in the circle for the Roadrunners, earning two complete game victories against Southeastern Louisiana and New Mexico State. She struck out 12 batters across 17.1 innings in the circle.
Player of the Week
Ausha Moore, So., 3B, Wichita State
Moore slashed .800/.867/.1900 in four games for the Shockers. She recorded a hit in every game and finished the week with a home run in three straight games. In four games, she had five RBI and six runs scored.
Honorable Mention
Hannah Dorsett, Jr., SS, UAB
Dorsett recorded a hit in all six games for the Blazers, slashing .500/.522/.545.
Kanisha Anderson, Jr., OF, East Carolina
Anderson helped lead the pirates to five wins, recording multiple hits in five of the six games played.
Lily Holtje, So., DP, Florida Atlantic
Holtje recorded a hit in every game played, helping lead the Owls to four wins.
Madison Conley, Jr., UTL, North Texas
Conley hit a pair of home runs and held a slugging percentage of 1.143 across five games played.
Taryn Madlock, Jr., OF, UTSA
Madlock recorded a hit in six of seven games played, scoring seven runs and driving in seven addition runs.
