IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball awards for the week ending Sunday, March 29.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Autumn Courtney, Sr., Florida Atlantic
Courtney recorded three wins in the circle for the Owls, tossing two complete games.  Over 18.2 innings, she struck out 15 batters and finished with a 0.75 ERA.
 
Player of the Week
Ciara Gibson, Jr., OF, Florida Atlantic
Gibson slashed .636/.692/1.182 with two home runs, five RBI and six runs scored.  She helped lead the Owls to a 4-0 week, recording a hit and RBI in every game, while scoring multiple runs in three of the four games played.
 
Honorable Mention
Olivia Cummings, Jr., P, UAB
Cummings led the Blazers to a pair of wins from the circle, tossing 10.0 innings with only one walk.
 
Audrey Wilson, So., C, Charlotte
Wilson hit two home runs and drove in seven runs, hitting .538 from the plate across four games.
 
Faith Brown, So., INF, Memphis  
Brown drove in seven runs and hit two homers across five games. She had a hit in four of the five games.
 
Anne Long, So., P, South Florida
Long finished with a 0.66 ERA across 10.2 innings, earning two wins in the circle.
 
Madison Garcia, Jr., OF, Tulsa
Garcia led the Golden Hurricane to a series win, scoring five times and driving in three runs.
