Memphis' Stutts, Wichita State's Moore Earn Weekly Softball Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball awards for the week ending Sunday, April 19.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Avery Stutts, Fr., Memphis
Stutts earned both a win and a save in three appearances during the week, pitching 9.0 innings with a 1.56 ERA. The freshman hurler picked up the win by throwing the final 4.0 innings in relief against Alcorn State, then secured the series victory against North Texas by closing out the Tigers’ win with a save.
 
Player of the Week
Ausha Moore, So., DP, Wichita State
Moore delivered a dominant offensive performance for Wichita State, compiling an eye-popping .625/.786/2.500 slash line with five home runs. She homered in every game of the series sweep against Charlotte and drove in 13 runs, including nine RBI in the series finale.
 
Honorable Mention
Julia Apostolakos, R-So., P, East Carolina
Apostolakos threw 20.0 innings across three appearances, striking out 15 batters and earning a complete-game victory against South Florida.
 
Chloe Yeatts, Sr., C, Florida Atlantic
Yeatts reached based in nine out of 11 plate appearances, finishing with a slash of .667/.818/1.667.
 
Elizabeth Moffitt, Jr., C, North Texas
Moffitt recorded multiple hits in all four games, tallying three extra-base hits on the weekend.
 
Anne Long, So., P, South Florida
Long logged 14.0 innings in two starts, posting a 1.00 ERA and earning a win in the series finale against East Carolina.
 
Taryn Madlock, Jr., OF, UTSA
Madlock recorded a hit and an RBI in each game of UTSA’s series win over UAB and totaled three extra-base hits.
