IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball awards for the week ending Sunday, April 26.
Pitcher of the Week
Jade Sanders, Sr., Wichita State
Sanders made three appearances for the Shockers, including two in the series sweep against North Texas. Against the Mean Green, she earned a win and did not allow an earned run in 7.2 inning of relief.
Player of the Week
Jenna Lord, R-Sr., 3B, Charlotte
Despite being walked tem times in three games Against UTSA, Lord finished with five RBI and two home runs, while scoring six times. She recorded a hit in every game of the series. In four games, she slahsed .500/.778/1.250.
Honorable Mention
Julia Apostolakos, R-So., P, ECU
Apostolakos struck out 15 batters across 14.1 innings in the circle. She led the Pirates to the series clinching win over Tulsa.
Ariel Davis, R-So., INF, Memphis
Davis slashed .700/.750/.900 for the week. She recorded multiple hits in every game against Florida Atlantic.
Alexa Galligani, Sr., CF, South Florida
Galligani recorded multiple hits in every game against UAB, finishing with 8 RBI and two home runs.
Sabrina Wick, So., 2B, UTSA
Wick recorded multiple hits in every game against Charlotte and drove in a run in every game, finishing with five RBI.
Kinzey Woody, Fr., 3B, Wichita State
Wood hit .500 for the week with a pair of home runs and eight RBI to help the Shockers go 4-0 on the week.
