North Texas' Conley, South Florida's Long Earn Weekly Softball Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball awards for the week ending Sunday, April 5.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Anne Long, So., South Florida
Long helped South Florida secure a series win over UTSA with a pair of complete-game victories. The sophomore posted a 1.00 ERA across 14.0 innings, striking out seven and issuing just one walk.
 
Player of the Week
Madison Conley, Jr., UTL, North Texas
Conley powered North Texas to a series win over Florida Atlantic with a dominant weekend at the plate. The junior tallied multiple hits in every game, including a home run in each contest, finishing with seven RBI and five runs scored. She posted a .857 batting average, .818 on-base percentage and 2.143 slugging percentage.
 
Honorable Mention
Ashlyn Shirah, Sr., OF, UAB
Hit .600 for the week with multiple hits in every game, including four extra-base hits.
 
Aubrey Yarnall, R-So., P, Charlotte
Earned a complete-game victory at East Carolina, allowing just one run over seven innings.
 
Kanisha Anderson, Jr., OF, East Carolina
Recorded a hit in every game, posting a .667/.750/.733 slash line for the weekend.
 
Ciara Gibson, Jr., OF, Florida Atlantic
Tallied a hit and RBI in every game, finishing with seven RBI and two home runs.
 
Trinity Allen, Jr., 1B, Wichita State
Scored six runs and drove in six while batting .636 in a series win over Tulsa.
