IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly men’s and women’s tennis honors.
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
Petro Kuzmenok, Junior, Rice
Kuzmenok wins the honor for the second time this season after posting a perfect 4-0 week. In doubles, he teamed with Santiago Navarro to defeat #72 Tulsa 6-3 and #64 Memphis 6-4. In singles, Kuzmenok posted straight sets victories (7-5, 6-3 vs. Tulsa; 6-1, 6-4 vs. Memphis) as Rice went 2-0 on the week.
Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Divna Ratkovic, Junior, Rice
Ratkovic also takes home the weekly honor for the second time this season with a perfect 4-0 week. She partnered with Daniela Chica to post doubles wins over South Florida (6-3) and Florida International (6-3). In singles, Ratkovic won the match-clinching game against USF 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 and then won in straight sets vs. FIU 6-4, 6-0 as Rice won both contests.
