UConn and Louisville advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 with dominating wins over Saint Joseph's and Iowa, respectively.
The Huskies defeated the Hawks, 91-52 to advance to the NCAA round of 16 for the 21st consecutive time. UConn will face 12th-seeded BYU in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday.
Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis recorded the third triple-double in UConn history (20 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) and led five Huskies in double figure scoring. Breanna Stewart added 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Bria Hartley chipped in 20 points. UConn led 50-26 at halftime, and Mosqueda-Lewis (13), Stewart (11) and Stefanie Dolson (11) were already in double figures.
Shoni Schimmel had 26 points, seven assists and five steals to help Louisville to an 83-53 win over Iowa. The Cards earned its fifth trip to the Sweet Sixteen under coach Jeff Walz and will face No. 7 seed LSU in the Louisville regional on Sunday.
Louisville jumped out to a 17-point halftime lead and pushed the advantage to 47-23 early in the second half. Antonita Slaughter added 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field while Asia Taylor, Jude Schimmel and Tia Gibbs each finished with 10.
