Kiah Stokes had the fourth triple-double in UConn history - 10 points, 11 rebounds and a school-record 10 blocked shots - in the Huskies' 87-32 win over East Carolina Wednesday evening at the XL Center. Morgan Tuck scored 17 points and Breanna Stewart added 14 points and a career-high five steals for UConn, who improved to 19-1 and 9-0 in The American with the win. The Pirates fell to 13-8 (4-6) with the loss. Jada Payne led East Carolina with 13 points and a team-high six rebounds.
Memphis 56, Cincinnati 44
Memphis (11-9, 5-4 American) swept the regular season series with Cincinnati (5-15, 2-6 American) in a 56-44 victory Wednesday evening at Fifth Third Arena. The road win is the third of the season and the second in conference play for the Tigers. Mooriah Rowser was the game’s leading scorer, finishing with 16 points for Memphis, while Asia Fuqua-Bey added 15 points and nine rebounds. Ariel Hearn chipped in nine points and moved in to 17th place in the Tigers record book with 1,303 career points. Marley Hill paced Cincinnati with her eighth double-double of the year (11 points, 11 rebounds).
Tulsa 74, SMU 58
Teanna Reid led five players in double-figures with a career-high 19 points as Tulsa scored a 74-58 win over SMU Wednesday night at the Reynolds Center. Reid connected on 7-of-8 field goals, including 5-of-6 from 3-point range for her career-best point total. Three-point shooting was a key in the victory as the Hurricane connected on 54.5-percent beyond the arc, converting 12-of-22 treys. SMU hit just 2-of-18 from 3-point range, but outscored Tulsa in the paint by two points, 26-24. Freshman Alicia Froling scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Mustangs. The 21 points was a season-high for Froling and the 15 rebounds tied a season-best effort against Texas A&M on Dec. 9.
