The UConn women’s basketball team is the unanimous No. 1 selection, while USF ranks No. 20 in the 2015 Associated Press preseason poll as released on Tuesday.  
 
For the 11th time in program history, the Huskies begin the season as the top team in the country. Last week, UConn was selected as the No. 1 team in the USA Today coaches’ preseason poll and chosen as the favorite to win the American Athletic Conference.    
 
USF, for the first time in program history, is ranked in the AP preseason poll. The Bulls also were slotted as the No. 19 team in the preseason USA Today coaches’ poll.  
 
The American women’s basketball regular season begins on Friday, Nov. 13.
