Cincinnati 69, Houston 66 (OT)
Freshman Ana Owens scored a career-high 25 points in Cincinnati's 69-66 overtime win over Houston Saturday afternoon at Fifth Third Arena. The victory snapped a four game skid for the Bearcats, who earned a sweep in the season series over the Cougars with the win. Both games of the series went to overtime. Owens scored the first four points in OT to help seal the win for Cincinnati. Houston got five points from Jessieka Palmer in the final two minutes of regulation to tie things up at 60 and force overtime. Palmer finished with 11 points off the bench in her first game since Jan. 21. Marche' Amerson led the team in scoring with 19.
East Carolina 67, Tulane 63
Trailing by 10 points with 5:50 left in regulation, East Carolina (ECU) used a 20-6 run to defeat Tulane, 67-63, Saturday afternoon at Devlin Fieldhouse. The win gave ECU a season split with the Green Wave. Abria Trice led three Pirates in double figure scoring with a game-high 16 points. Jada Payne added 14 and Shae Nelson chipped in 13. Courtnie Latham recorded a season high 13 points for Tulane while Chinwe Duru recorded 12. It was the second loss of the season for the Green Wave when they shot over 40-percent from the field (44.2 percent compared to East Carolina’s 42.6).
RV/RV USF 57, Memphis 53
RV/RV USF used an 11-point, 16-rebound second-half effort from Alisia Jenkins to pick up their 11th win in 12 games, out-rebounding Memphis 48-31 en route to the 57-53 victory at Elma Roane Fieldhouse. In the final 90 seconds and with the Tigers on an 8-0 run, Shalethia Stringfield hit four consecutive free-throws to put the game away for the Bulls. Stringfield finished with nine points while Courtney Williams led the squad with 20 points. Memphis' Ariel Hearn led all players with a career-high 30 points. It was the first 30-point outing for a Memphis player since Nicole Dickson scored 34 against Wright State in January 2013.
Tulsa 70, UCF 61
Ashley Clark scored a game-high 23 points off the bench to lead Tulsa to a 70-61 victory over UCF Saturday afternoon at the Reynolds Center. The win also marked the 200th career-victory for Golden Hurricane head coach Matilda Mossman. She had 67 wins at Arkansas and 80 wins at Kansas State. Clark added a team-high eight rebounds to go along with three assists and two steals. Mariah Turner contributed 12 points and six boards for Tulsa. UCF’s Fifi Ndour led three double-figure scorers with 15 points, followed by Andrea Hines with 13 and Aliyah Gregory with 10.
