ORLANDO, Fla. – Three UCF Knights (27-17) left the yard on Tuesday evening, downing North Florida (18-27) 8-5 at Harmon Field. Cameron Crain improved to 2-0 on the season, working four innings of no-hit baseball, striking out five.
The Knights opened the scoring in the second, when Ben McCabe hit his sixth home run of the season, a solo shot to dead center field. UCF added to the lead in the fourth, as Tom Josten hit a two-run home run to right field, extending the lead to 3-0.
In the fifth, Andrew Sundean continued to bang the ball around the yard, homering to left field for his fifth of the season. The three-run shot extended the Knights lead to 6-0 heading to the bottom half. UNF finally answered the call, stringing together their first hits of the night to cut the lead to 6-1.
In the top of the sixth, Josten drove in his third of the night, doubling to center field before being thrown out at third, scoring Trent Taylor from first. UCF took a 7-1 lead into the eighth inning, before UNF scored four runs to cut the lead to two.
Noah Orlando drove in a key run in the ninth, after Gephry Pena stole the Knights 87th base of the season. Orlando singled up the middle to extend the Knights lead to 8-5. William Saxton picked up his second save of the season, working the final inning, not allowing a hit.

MILLINGTON, Tenn. – More than 4.5 hours after first pitch Tuesday, Jacob Compton was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 12th inning, as the Memphis Tigers (21-21, 5-10) pulled out a come from behind walk-off 11-10 win over the UT Martin Skyhawks (10-29, 3-15) in the Babe Howard Classic at the USA Baseball Stadium. Of Memphis' 10 hits, eight came with two outs, which included the team's first seven hits of the night.
Austin Baskin doubled with one out in the bottom of the 12th, while Logan Kohler drew a two-out walk and Brooks loaded the bases with a sharp single to left field. With the bases loaded and two outs, UT Martin went back to the bullpen, as Warren Lee entered for Walters. On just his third pitch of the outing, Walters hit Compton in the hands on a 1-1 pitch, which forced Baskin in and gave Memphis the 11-10 win in 4:33, the Tigers' longest game this season.

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University baseball team (28-17-1 took down the University of New Orleans (23-19) in a 6-5 ballgame to claim the Pelican Cup on Tuesday night inside Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
The Pelican Cup will be back in GFATS for the first time since 1991 as the freshmen powered the Green Wave to victory.
Tulane started four freshmen and all four got a hit and scored at least one run. First-year right-hander also contributed, locking down UNO for a six out save.
Carter Robinson took the hill for the Green Wave and allowed three earned runs while striking out three in two innings of work.
Jackson Linn launched a three-run blast to center in the bottom of the first that scored fellow freshmen Gavin Schulz and Brady Marget, giving the Wave a 3-0 lead.
Kansas State 3, Wichita State 1 - Box Score
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State starter German Fajardo struck out 10 and carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning, as the Wildcats used a three-run bottom of the third to fend off Wichita State 3-1 on Tuesday night at Tointon Family Stadium.
Fajardo (4-1) pitched brilliantly against the Shockers for a second time this season, following up on five scoreless innings in a victory over Wichita State on April 18. He allowed just one baserunner on a hit by pitch through the first five innings, then stranded a pair of runners in the sixth after Couper Cornblum broke up the no-hitter with a single and Brock Rodden drew a two-out walk.
Kansas State (23-21) got all the offense they would need in the third via a pair of two-out doubles. With men at first and second, Dylan Phillips laced a ground-rule double to the gap in left-center for a 1-0 lead, and Nick Goodwin followed with a two-run double down the left field line that swelled the advantage to 3-0.
That proved to be all that the Wildcats could muster against Wichita State starter Jace Miner (0-3) who rebounded from the rough third inning by setting the side down in order over the next two frames. Miner allowed three runs on four hits over 5.2 innings, striking out four and walking three. LJ McDonough got the final out of the sixth, and Adam Ketelsen guided the Shockers through the seventh thanks to a pair of clutch strikeouts that left the bases loaded.
Wichita State (15-30) began to find their footing offensively in the eighth. Payton Tolle led off the inning with a double, later moving to third on a one-out single from Cornblum. Chuck Ingram got the Shockers on the board with an RBI double to the gap in right-center, plating Tolle and cutting the deficit to 3-1. With runners at second and third, Brock Rodden ripped a line drive right to the first baseman Phillips for the second out, then Phillips moved to the mound and retired Sawyre Thornhill on a bouncer to second to end the threat.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (May 3, 2022) – Returning to the site of their 2021 regional championship, the University of South Florida Bulls (23-21) did not have the same success on Tuesday night as their last visit to Gainesville, falling 18-3 to the University of Florida (26-18).
The night started out promising for South Florida as the American Athletic Conference's hit leader Carmine Lane opened the ballgame with a leadoff single. Lane came around to score on a groundout by Sonny Rao to stake the Bulls to an early 1-0 lead.
Florida's Jud Fabian erased the USF advantage with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning on his way to a hitting three home runs in the game.
Nick Gonzalez and Nelson Rivera each recorded RBI for South Florida. Lane and Marcus Brodil finished with two hits apiece.
Houston 8, Rice 2 - Box Score
HOUSTON – University of Houston Baseball's bottom of the order cashed in and the Cougars used a four-run third inning to capture the Silver Glove Series with an 8-2 win against Rice on Wednesday night from Sanders Field at Schroeder Park.
Redshirt junior Ian McMillan (3 for 3) delivered his third home run in two games depositing a two-out, two-run home run over the left field wall in the third after senior Ryan Hernandez (3 for 4) lined a two-run double into left field.
The win marked the Cougars' sixth Silver Glove title and second in the last three opportunities. With the win, Houston (30-15) locked up its 30th victory, doing so in its fewest total games (45) since replicating the feat in the 45th game during 2015.
Houston's bottom four in the order combined to go 8 for 13 with six runs and five RBIs. Not to be outdone, redshirt sophomore Zach Arnold, batting in the three-hole, collected three RBIs in a 2-for-5 performance.
Rice (13-31) could never break through against Houston junior starter Logan Clayton (3-3). The right-hander stranded two in the first inning and left the bases loaded in the fourth on a five-pitch strikeout of Owls senior Hal Hughes. Clayton allowed four hits and two runs while walking four and striking out as many in 5.0 innings.
After the Owls took a 1-0 lead in the second, the Cougars answered in the home half on freshman Brandon Burckel's two-out, RBI-single in the home half. Two innings later, Burckel's leadoff double led to a run on an RBI-groundout from Arnold.
Rice sophomore reliever Christian Cienfuego (0-2) drew the loss, allowing five runs (one earned) on five hits with a pair of strikeouts. A two-out throwing error did Cienfuego in during the third as the Cougars went on to plate four.
