East Carolina's Lenahan, UAB's Hicks Earn Weekly Baseball Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced this week’s baseball honors. 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Justin Hicks, So., RHP, UAB

Hicks posted a 2-0 record with a spotless ERA in two pitching appearances last week for UAB. Hicks went five full innings and allowed no runs on two hits with no walks and four strikeouts as the starting pitcher of a midweek 10-0 victory against North Alabama. Hicks returned in relief in the series finale against Florida Atlantic and spun two scoreless frames, allowing one hit while striking out two as the pitcher of record in a 10-4 win.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Grady Lenahan, Fr., OF, East Carolina

Lenahan batted .600 with a 1.067 slugging percentage in a 4-0 week for East Carolina, smashing a home run and finishing with eight RBI and seven runs scored. Lenahan was a triple short of the cycle midweek against UNC Wilmington, driving in five runs and scoring twice on three hits in four at-bats. Lenahan added two multi-hit games, two multi-run performances and added three RBI in a series sweep of Charlotte.

HONORABLE MENTION
Michael Senay, Fr., RHP, South Florida
Senay improved to 6-0 this season after throwing seven innings of four-hit baseball in a 5-0 win over Memphis, walking one while striking out three Tiger batters.

Jake Toporek, Grad, LHP, Tulane
Toporek earned his first start in conference play for Tulane and tossed 5.1 innings of shutout baseball in a 4-2 victory at Wichita State, scattering three hits while striking out four opposing hitters.

Andrew Hunt, R-Jr., OF, UAB
Hunt finished the week with a .500 batting average and a 1.000 slugging percentage in a sweep at Florida Atlantic, logging seven RBI and four runs during the series.

Caden Miller, So., 1B, UTSA
Miller batted .571 with six RBI and a pair of runs scored for UTSA during a 2-2 week, registering three straight multi-hit games in a series victory at Rice.

Conor Myles, Grad, LHP, UTSA
Myles was a standout on the mound for UTSA in an 8-0 win at Rice, hurling 6.1 innings of two-hit baseball while yielding two walks and adding a strikeout in the road triumph.
